It took Aly a minute but she was excited and so was everyone else. I had a pretty strong feeling it was a boy from the start, which meant that JV was pretty certain it was a girl, because I was totally wrong about Aly. We are so thrilled.
Because JV's family all had travel plans that weekend and it was the only time that Paige and Brandt could be here, they gave us there blessing to do it without them and then we could tell them the following week. We wanted to do something fun with them as well, so we decided to wrap a big box and inside the box we put blue balloons in the box, so when it was opened the balloons would come out and reveal what the gender was. Alice got to open the box and the looks on there faces were great. JV had everyone write down before what they thought the baby was, everyone thought it was a boy except Jason and Corey, they both thought girl. It was a lot of fun.
I really am glad that we know. It was fun with Aly not knowing but I'm glad I'm getting to experience pregnancy another way is pretty cool too.
We have decided on a Name, his first name will be Aaron. We are still working on the middle name. I think we are going to go with Jackson. We are currently working on getting the nursery ready. With my due date being right after the holiday's we wanted to have everything done before Thanksgiving, which is right around the corner. We had new carpet put in there today and hopefully in the next few weeks we can get it painted and get the furniture moved.
This pregnancy has been really different then mine with Alyssa. Being that I weigh a little more now then I did the doctors have been paying close attention to that. I had to take my glucose test early at 12 weeks and it came back good. I was sick for a lot of this pregnancy but luckily that went away around 15 weeks. I have had heartburn and a few other problems. Considering some of the problem other women have, I am extremely lucky. I did start showing much earlier which has lead to me being bigger then I was with her so that has been difficult but we are making it through.
Another large difference is this little guy doesn't really kick much, he is more of a roll around kind of guy. I remember getting kicked a lot and hard with Aly but it doesn't happen much with Aaron, I seem to get bony elbows and knees a lot. He stays pretty low in my pelvis so that hurts some times but still a cool feeling.
I had to take my 2nd glucose test this past week and it did not go as well as the first. My glucose level was a little high so they are making me take the 3 hour test next week. We are hoping it will come back ok and we can just continue to watch my weight and be ok. As of now I have gained 11lbs, so that is pretty good (being that at this point with Aly I was up about 30).
On other family news, JV has started hunting a little. He has really enjoyed the quiet time in the woods and he is realizing why its called hunting and not killing, LOL. He hasn't had any luck yet but it takes time. He has gotten a new position at work which has kept him busy with new projects but he is enjoying it. On the Aly front, she is still doing fantastic at School. She loves it so much and is absolutely thriving. She has lots of new friends and it is making her more social, which is great!
We are all so excited about the new addition that is coming and we are working hard to get ready, we are so lucky to have all the support from our friends and family.
