At the end of April we got to go to a Rodeo in Loganville ( I know how redneck does that sentence sound, LOL) but it was a lot of fun. I have been to several but its been a while and JV had never been to one. Everyone had a really great time. Aly loved watching the bulls and the guys falling off as she said it. She also got to ride on a pony for the first time. She was a little scared at first and then when I told her the pony was going to walk in a circle she was really freaked out. JV walked next to her the first few laps and then he ducked out and let her do it by her self ( I was freaking out I was so afraid she was going to fall) but she had a blast and that pony ride was all we heard about for days!!!
On Sat. May 5th we went to Kylie's 4th birthday party (she is the daughter of some very close friends). They had it at a petting zoo in Grayson. It was so much fun! All the kids love it, especially Aly. She got to ride a pony again and after the Rodeo we knew that was a winner. I think she was on the pony for a hour straight, she couldn't get enough!!! and she is still wearing her cow girl hat that she got at the party. After the party we went to Jeff and Kim's house and all the kids played their hearts out. It was pretty cool to watch because Aly was just one of the big kids, running, screaming and playing with the older girls. It was a little bitter sweet because she is getting so big and independent, its hard to let go. :(
We also celebrated a wonderful Mothers day in May. Its so hard to believe that its been 16 years since my mom pasted away. I can't believe it. But I did go to the cemetery for the first time this year. This has been something I have wanted to do for a while but never could really find the courage to do it. Its a good thing I have a great Aunt who went with me and helped me through it ( I am a lucky girl to have so many wonderful Aunts in my life!! ). It was hard to stand there and see her name on the head stone but I know she's there with me all the time!!! We went to Dad's house later that Saturday and hung out with him, Aunt Cheryl and the Deegan's. Then on Sunday we went to Church and to John and Alice's for lunch. It was a really nice day and great weekend altogether.
On another note we found out a few weeks ago that Paige and Brandt are moving to Charleston, SC in June. I'm so sad for them to leave but I know they have wanted to do this for a while and I'm excited for what God's plans are for them and I know they are too! Its going to be hard not having them here and not seeing the boys as much but we are going to visit them there and I'm sure they will come home often as well.
We are so looking forward to out beach vacation this coming week :)) We are renting a car this time because I am having my car painted while we are gone. We are switching paint companies at work and they have agreed to do the demo of the product on my car and pay for my rental while we are gone, so I'm super excited about that too!!! Lots of wonderful things happening!!! Work has been slow in April but seems to be picking up a bit for May, we just need to get back out of the hole and trust that God has a plan!!!
