August 2011

There has been a lot going on with us these past few weeks. Busy, Busy Busy. I got my new camera about a month ago and I am defiantly making good use of it.

We took Aly to the Yellow River Game Ranch on July 23 and she had a great time. It was the first time JV had been there too so it was 1st for both of them. Aly didn’t want to get to close to many of the animals but she like the deer just walking around. They just take the crackers right out of you hand so it was pretty neat.

I had another 1st as a parent a few weeks ago (8/17/2011). I picked Aly up from Shannon’s and we were going to go the grocery store. We were about ½ way there and Aly said “mommy, it hurts in my tummy” and within about 2 minutes she was throwing up all over JV’s truck (I was driving his truck because I picked up some tables from the shop and they wouldn’t fit in mine). I have now come to realize that once you deal with that you have reached a whole new level of parent hood. I pulled over in the QT parking lot and was trying to access the situation. I have never in my life seen so much puke come out of something so little. I got her out of her seat and striped her down and cleaned her up first. Luckily JV had a jacket in there from a while ago so I used that. And of course there were only 7 wipes left in her bag. I had to clean the car seat up best I could b/c I couldn't take the cover off and still strap her in. I had a blanket in the back between the 2 tables so I used that in the seat and she rode home naked. It was the longest ride home ever with that horrible stink in the truck. We made it home and starting cleaning JV’s truck up. You could tell Aly didn't feel well all night, she just wasn’t her self. She threw up again later that night in her bed. Thursday she was with Mimi and seemed to be ok. I took her to Shannon’s on Friday morning and before I made it out of her neighborhood she had thrown up again so I went back and got her and took her home for a mommy/Aly day.

She started eating better that afternoon and was back to her sassy self by Sunday!!!

Aly took swim lessons at Swim Atlanta on Sat. mornings in August. It was pretty basic but she learned some good skills with Coach Mark. It was 40 min and JV or I was in the pool with her at all times. The first one she pretty much cried the whole time. The second was much better and the third and fourth were great. She was even giving Coach Mark high fives by week 3 which was a pretty big step.

We had a little family get together at our house on sat. (8/28) and the Deegan’s and Dad came over for some swim time and hotdogs. Its always a little crazy when we get all the little ones together but always a good time, never a dull moment. Dad also fixed the sheet rock in our laundry room where we had a leak fixed, so we are glad that is done. We never realized how much work owning a house was, it seems lately it’s always something. Leaks, plumbing problems and noises, water heaters, yard the list goes on and on.

We are really working hard to get some plans for the back yard done soon. Starting with a deck and then some sod and a play set for Aly. Being that we are probably going to be in this house longer then we initially though because of the market we figured we better get going on that.

Well other then that we are all doing ok. My Tupperware business is going good, I’m really enjoying it and having some girl time a few nights a month is always a good thing. Business at the shop is up and down and so is JV’s business too. We are all grateful for all our many many blessings.
