Going to play in the snow 12/26/2010

She escaped when I was trying to change her clothes after the snow!

She's a Pro Rider Already!
It's safe to say (with a sigh of relief) that we had a wonderful Christmas!!! I'm still in shock that it snowed on Christmas Day. I was informed by my way to intellegent nephews that it hasn't snowed on Christmas day since 1882!!! I wish Aly was a little older so she could remember it because it will probably never happen again in her life time. We did go out in the snow on Sunday for a few minutes but she was not a big fan. She doesn't seem to like anything cold at all so it was a short adventure.
We had Aunt Lane's Christmas Party on Saturday the 18th and it was a good time. It was a house full of kids and they all seemed to have a great time!!! Aly got a great bean bag chair from Aunt Lane and loves reading in it!!!
This Christmas Eve it was our turn with the Manderscheid's so we went to church at 4:00 and then headed to John and Alice's for the wonderful Prime Rib dinner. Brett and Melissa have a safe families baby now, she is about 7 weeks old so we were extra blessed to share it with her.
Christmas Morning when Aly woke up she went out into the living room and Santa had all her toys set up. She didn't get it at first but when we showed her the power wheel she was so excited!!! We have learned that the big Santa gift needs to wait till last because we couldn't get her to open any of the other things that Santa left. She has mastered the button to go forward but doesn't get the steering thing yet. She also got some Elmo slippers in her stocking along with a coloring book and crayons. She got lots of blocks from Santa too.
JV and I enjoyed opening our presents from each other as well. He got me a pyrimid Charm for my braclet because thats where we stayed in Las Vegas was the Luxor hotel. Aly got me some much needed hot chocalote for the coffee machine. Aly gave daddy a new UGA hat and I got him Liquor (apparently thats what he needs to live with me! hehe just kidding). JV got a bonus at work so he gave me some money to spend so he bought me a new purse and wallet today too!! Thanks Honey!
After our presents at home we went to Paige and Brandt's house for Christmas morning with the Jackson group. We had a wonderful pancake breakfast and enjoyed watching the kids play with all there new toys. Elmo was the theme of this year. Aly got lots of new Elmo toys from Aunt Cheryl, Grandpa Eddie and Aunt Paige and Uncle Brandt.
Dad has been working on a Toy box for Aly and while he was doing it he made a coat rack for me and JV to have at home. It looks great!!!!
We went back to the Manderscheid's Christmas day afternoon for appetizers and presents. All the kids got some great gifts. Grammy and Grandpa spoiled Aly again (as well as JV and I). She is getting into baby dolls so she got a new doll and a stroller for her babies. JV said it was a little weird Aly getting the girly things and he finally realized she is a girlie girl!!! Until now its been blocks and books so that was kind of funny. She love puzzles and can't put her new ones down!!!
Aly still isn't feeling 100%. She seems to be in a serious teething mode right now. Her gums are all white and I think we are going to wake up one morning and have a mouth full of teeth. She did finally sleep through the night last night, which was the best Christmas present of all. She has only done that twice since she was so sick in November so it was needed!!!
JV and I got several great gift cards for dinners and movies so I think we are going to take advantage of a date night here pretty soon and let Grammy and Grandpa have Aly for the night!
I can't believe Christmas is already over. It comes and goes so quickly! We are so blessed to have all the wonderful family and friends to spend it with!
