Aly before her tube surgery 4/16/2010

I don't say this very often but I am so glad this weekend is over. Aly's surgery went well and seemed to be pretty much textbook from what I understand. We went to the Dr. office on Wednesday for her pre op. They just checked her out to make sure she was ready. But when we got home on Wednesday she felt really warm and was running a fever of 102.2. We gave her some Tylenol and chocked it up to being hot and teething. Well the fever stuck around all night. I called the Dr. on Thursday to make sure they would still do the surgery with her having a fever and they said yes, that most the time when they do the tubes the children have fevers from the ear infections so it was no big deal.

So we got to the surgery center Friday at 7:00 am. It was a tough morning. I didn't sleep at all, i was so worried and Aly was not happy that she didn't get to have her bottle when she woke up. She did better with that then I was expecting but she was a little ill. They took us back around 7:30 to do the paper work and get her changed and everything and we were good to go. All the nurses were coming by telling us how cute she was and everything so it was pretty low key. We met the anesthesiologist and the nurse that would be in there during the surgery. Then around 8:00 a nurse came by and asked JV if she could hold her, and she started singing the wheels on the bus and then they were gone. I was kind of upset that they just took her but it was probably for the best because I lost it after that. I cried the whole time until Dr. Griner came in there at 8:14 to tell us she was done and it all went well.

Then another nurse came back about 8:20 to get us so we could see her. She was just waking up and was not happy. They wanted us to give her some juice to drink before her bottle to make sure her stomach didn't get up set with the anesthesia but she wasn't liking that very much, so we gave her her bottle and she started to calm down. We were in the recovery room for about 15 mins and they let us go. They had a nurse walk her to the car (which i'm now thinking was pretty planned also) and we were on our way home by 8:45. Aly was asleep before we left the parking lot!!! She woke up when we got home and seemed to be ok. She was a little out of it, but didn't seem to be in much pain. She did have her first tooth pop through on Friday as well. The bottom left one finally came through!!!

Aunt Lane, Paige, Alex and Asher came over for lunch and John, Alice, DJ and some of there friends that were in town came over for dinner. So Aly had lots of visitors.

Sat. we had Paige's Welcome baby Asher shower at our house, so JV took Aly and Marley to Alice's house to hang out and Aly stayed there sat. night. On Sunday she woke up with a rash on her tummy. IT didn't seem bad but Alice kept her home from church just to be safe. Then later that night someone asked me if it was roseola. Its a rash children get that goes with a fever a few days before, so it made sense, so we think thats what it is. It doesn't seem to be bothering her so we didn't take her to the dr.

By Monday morning it was 99% gone so she went to Shannon's so we will see how she does!!!

We did take Aly to the park for a few mins last weekend and that where those pictures are from, she can't do much there but she loves the swings! We were trying to keep her inside to make sure she didn't get sick with all the pollen before her surgery but we had to get out on that beautiful day!!!

Well we want to say Thank you to everyone for there prayers for Aly and us during this past week. They were def. heard and appreciated!!! WE love you all!!!!

Aly's 1st Easter basket.

Well Easter was a great, great day! We got up and made it to the 9:00am service at church, and on time I might add (that rarely happens now that we have little miss princess). Service was great!!! Then after church we visited with the family for a bit because Jon, Alice and Laura just got back from the trip to the Dominican Republic and they were wanting to see everyone. The JV, Aly and I went and met Dad at Olive Garden for Lunch. Aly decided that everyone in the restaurant wanted to hear her talking so it required stuffing her mouth with cheerio's and puffs to make it though. She was in a great mood though, it could of been worse.

We went home after that and relaxed for a bit. Aly finally took a nap about 3:00 and then we left at 4:00 to go to Melissa's for the egg hunt and dinner. We had a great time hunting eggs, eating a wonderful meal and just hanging out! It was a great day!!!

I took Aly to the Dr. this morning for her 9 month check up. We saw the nurse practiciner Mrs. Joiner, we really like her! Aly is doing great! They had to prick her toe to check her iron, so she didn't appreciate that Mommy lied to her this morning when she told her she didn't have to get any shots!

She weighs 19lbs 14oz (67%), her head was in the 64th percentile and her height 28" in the 61% so she is right on target!!! Her iron ended up being fine also.

We talked about starting to ween her off the formula in a few months so she is eating 3 meals a day and having 3 cups of milk each day! I can't believe we are already talking about that!! I will be happy not to have to buy formula and wash bottles any more but she is just growing up way to fast!!!

As you can see, Aly finally has enough hair to put in a little pony tail on top of her head. Its really cute but she freaks out when ever I do it! I did buy some little clips to go in there too. They were working good until this morning. I put one in and put her in the pack n play so I could get ready. I looked over there about 2 mins later and the clip was gone. She was chewing on it. It could of been really bad if she swallowed it so we won't be using those for a while!!!

I am still waiting on the people from the ENT to call me back so we can schedule Aly's surgery (apparently its OK to take 5 days to call someone back). I keep calling and keep getting her voice mail so I will be in that office in the morning if I don't hear from her today. So i'll let you all know about that when I know!!!
