well this visit was a little different. First off my blood pressure was a good bit higher then normal so she was a little concerned. It was 132/82 which normally i'm around 112/70. So with that and the swelling in my feet she wanted to monitor the baby for 30 min to check the heart rate and make sure the baby wasn't under any stress. Also they were getting a high reading on my protein in my urine so they sent that off to there lab to have it checked with higher accuracy. After the lab looked at it, it wasn't as high as they first said but still high.
So I did the heart rate monitoring for 30 min and the baby is great! she said he/she was very very happy!!! She then took my blood pressure again and it was actually higher. So she wants me off my feet for 24 hours. I had to go and get some blood work done in the lab and I have to collect all my urine for 24 hours so they can check it. So i'm doing that and taking it back tomorrow. then I have to go back on Thursday and they want to check everything again! i'm not sure what time yet I haven't made the appt. I'm guessing that they might induce me if nothing changes by Thursday and I haven't gone into labor on my own.
I haven't dilated any more ,but she did say that she had to go around the baby's head to check my cervix so it was pretty much thinned out, so thats a good thing. The baby has moved down a little in my pelvis so thats good too!
I'm guessing that they are not extremely concerned or they would of just sent me straight to the hospital, but they are very supportive of letting my body go into labor on its own, b/c its makes everything better then forcing it.
so i'm going to stay at home tomorrow and take it easy and we will see what happens!!!
We will let you know if anything big happens before then, I promise!!!!
love you

38 weeks, we have progress!
Well we have progress, i'm officially 2cm dilated and 70% effaced. It doesn't necessarily mean a whole lot for a time frame, but its better then nothing!!!! My blood pressure was good an the protein in my urine didn't go up so thats good too! The babies heart beat was still in the 140's so thats been consistent for a while now. I think I started having contractions last Friday. Nothing consistent or with any rhythm or anything but def. something different! The baby has been super active today so maybe thats a good thing!!!
She estimated the baby to be around 7 or 7 1/2lbs right now, so hopefully he/she won't get to much bigger before he/she decides to make an entrance!!!
As for me, I'm hanging in there. My feet are still huge, but i'm doing ok!!!!
Thank you for all your support and prayers. Keep them coming for a safe delivery!!!

20 days and counting. . .

Hi, just got back from the dr. everything is still good. She printed my paper work and it looks like my blood pressure was a little bit higher then normal (but not surprising after the day we had today at work) and it is only 89 degrees outside and 88 in there building, but they are going to pay attention to it. I'm showing a small amount of protein in my urine, so they are going to keep an eye on that too. Nothing to be alarmed about though. Last week, they did a test for Group B strep and I tested positive for it, so I'm going to have to have 2 doses of antibiotics while im in labor to keep the baby from getting it. Apparently 50% of men and women have it and don't know it because it doesn't pose a threat to adults. So as long as we know about it we can handel it.
The heart beat has been at 140 the last two weeks. She said typically that girls are lower then boy's at the end but 140 is about dead in the middle so she didn't have a guess there! I'm measuring 38 weeks, which is pretty close, but gives me a little hope that maybe I'll be a little early. She didn't "check" me this time. Being that I was no where close last week and its not a pleasant experience she didn't do it again.
Dad is putting together a picture college thing for me and we went and took some pictures in a neighborhood the other day, I'm going to post some of those. He found a really cute frame that we can put in the nursery. JV and I took a few at the wedding we were at a few weeks ago, then there will be a few of just me pregnant, then the rest with us at the hospital and the baby. Just kind of a keep sake for the baby. Also he had a quilt made for the baby as a present and brought it to me yesterday. Its so adorable. I have a few pictures of it, but the pictures don't do it justice. Its all hand made and has several different colors and designs on it so it will be able to be used for a long time and for either gender.
Well thats about it from here. The baby is moving great, it is really starting to hurt but thats a good thing. So we are just waiting on him or her!

Hospital Tour
JV and I went to eastside where I will be delivering and we took a tour of the hospital last night. We got to see one of the labor and delivery rooms and the nurse went over pretty much everything that is going to happen in there. Then we went to the mother/baby side and saw one of those rooms! that was definitely a good idea to do, we were both happy with the information. We talked about epidurals, inducing, breastfeeding and all that fun stuff. We both feel better about it because now we kinda know what to expect (well as much as you can).
thats all, just a quick note!!!

36 weeks
Hello people, well we are at 36 weeks 1 day! and it totally feels like it! this past week it has been kinda hard. My back is hurting a lot and there isn't much I can do about it, and as usual I can't breath. But today is a much better day then yesterday. The dr. checked me and I have made zero progress. I was told a few weeks ago that the baby had started to drop and I felt like it had, but apparently not really. She couldn't feel anything, so she said I would def. be back next week. (The baby's head is still down, which is great). But thats a good thing because I will tech. be full term at 37 weeks, which will be next week so thats not a bad thing! She was really kinda quite and didn't say much, all my vitals looked good. She did say she was noticing some water weight so they were going to keep an eye on that. My calfs are pretty swollen and my ankels stay that way. I didn't really have much to ask her about either, any issues i have been having are pretty normal from what I hear so I wasn't going to waste her time on them.
We have the hospital bag packed and in the car and so is the car seat, so I feel like we are ready. JV and I went to the melting pot last thursday and I got there before him and as I was sitting in the car, I got a few weird pains and things I hadn't felt before and it kinda hit me that at any moment I could be making that call to JV and telling him I'm in labor and that was the first time I got scared. In a good way but it was the first bit of "oh crap" I have had. I"m assuming thats pretty normal, but I think we are as ready as we are going to be. We have both made bets about where I'm going to be when/if my water breaks. I'm guessing at work and he thinks in the middle of the night I'm going to wake him up, so we will see who is right.
Yesterday I was reading a lady's blog on babycenter.com and she was announcing that she had her baby girl last week and it said "samantha is here" and something struck me funny. That was on of the girl names that JV and I really liked and we had decided on Alyssa over samantha b/c it was a really long first name but now i'm not so sure. We both still really love Alyssa Jane, but now Samantha Jane is back in my head. So I think we decided that we are just going to wait and see if its a girl which one she looks more like. I'm thinking we will stick with Alyssa but just a thought. It was werid b/c I haven't looked at names in a long time and I was totally decided on Alyssa, but something hit me funny when I read that so now i'm not toally sure. So we will see!!!
I go back next wednesday at 2:30, i'm every week now. I still have June 28th in my head for some reason. They did tell me last time that they will let me go to 41 weeks then they will set a date to induce me if it comes to that. Kaiser is really against inducing for non medical reasons. THey strongly believe that it leads to more C sections and as a practice they only want to do the c section if its totally necessary b/c of the recovery time and the major surgery it is. Right now I don't seem to be at any risk for needing a c section or to be induced so looks like we are just going to have to wait on the little one!
Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts, keep them coming as the next few weeks are going to be eventful!!! Love you all!
