30 WEEK DR. VISIT

I just got back from the dr. everything again looks great! I don't think I will ever get tired of saying that. It was a short one this time. She went over all my vitals and everything is where it should be. The babies heart beat was 140 this time, and in her opinion its a girl, but who knows the lady last time said boy! I'm loving hearing everyone's predictions and why, I get a kick out of it. I'm measuring 30" so thats right on, 2 weeks ago I was 1" ahead so this time we are on track. My weight looks good, I've gained 26 pounds so far, so nothing to crazy or at least I don't think so being that I can look at a cookie and gain 5 pounds, I'm ok with that! (and no one has asked me if I having twins this week, so thats a good thing too!)

Its all starting to get real for me now, they went ahead and gave me all my paper work to keep with me to take to the hospital just in case. WOW THEY ARE ALREADY PREPPING ME FOR THE HOSPITAL! CRAZY. thats a good thing and I'm glad to be prepared. they are going to update it at week 36 but they wanted me to have something just in case I went into labor really early! Its a complete history of everything that has gone on since I made my first appt. on Oct. 27, its all the phone calls, e-mails and dr. visits, so they won't have any questions about anything when I do get there. I was told that one of my drs. will be on call at eastside when I deliver so that makes me feel better (I am delivering at Emory Eastside on 124, if you didn't know that) I think I have seen most of them, but there are a few I have not. I have been happy with all of them so I'm ok with that!

The baby is def. moving a lot more now, I have days where it doesn't to much and then others it doesn't stop. JV got to feel a "roll" the other day, he was on the phone, so he couldn't say much but his face was priceless. It was a combination of completely weirded out and wow! I wish I had a camera. The baby is still pretty temperamental to other people feeling it, it stops moving when you put your hand there. I think I have def. felt much more movement as far as rolls and changing of positions then kicks but its also possible that i'm getting them confused too! I do get kicked/punched in 2 different spots at the same time, thats my favorite, its just so weird to feel that and to know that is big enough to feel it in two places.

The last 2 days "it" has been really low and honestly pretty uncomfortable, but today is much better. Thankfully my back isn't bothering me much. My hands and feet do swell sometimes with it getting hotter, but nothing unbearable. After being in Athens on Sat. when I got home, my feet were HUGE, but after having them up for a few hours they were back to my normal BIG jackson feet (not huge, but big, there is a difference)

I'm still not sleeping great, due to my sinus's not the baby, the baby doesn't bother me much at night and I would be fine if I could breathe, the dr said I would be able to in about 10 weeks, thanks a lot! It seems that I have a few bad nights, then God feels sorry for me and I have a great nights sleep like I did last night, (I wish he didn't always do it on Sat. night b/c it makes it really hard to get up for church on Sunday) and I feel much better! Over all, I know many people have had much harder pregnancies then I have, so i'm so thankful for only having the few small issues that I have had, I know it could be so much worse!!!

Well thats about it for us, we are doing good, growing by the day and so looking forward to the shower on the 16th!

P.S. I haven't changed my mind about the names, we are sticking with Aaron or Alyssa, I know that most of you are not going to believe that until the baby is here and the name is on the birth certificate, but we are set on those and very happy to meet Aaron or Alyssa!

update on blood work

Hi, well i received the blood work back and it seems that they did a few different test besides just the Gestational Diabetes one. Well it showed that my white blood cell count was slightly elevated and my red blood cell count was a little low. So worried, i called and asked them to look at the results. They e-mailed me back and said that two of my drs. had been over my charts and they were not concerned. I'm dealing with more sinus issues and they feel like thats probably why my white blood cells were high b/c my body is trying to fight that off. They also said it was pretty normal in pregnancy and they were not high enough to be worried. Also the gluclose test came back normal so I do not have gestional diabeties, so thats a good thing as well. So as for now I'm not going to worry if they are not.

28 week check up

Hello all, Just got back from the Dr. I had to do the Glucose test today (they make you drink this really sugary drink, wait 1 hour then draw you blood to make sure you do not have gestational diab) it wasn't near as bad and people have made it out to be and hopefully I will have the results in a few days, I have no reason to think anything is wrong though! Well she measured my tummy and I'm at 29" which is right on and I gained 6 pounds. The lady that was fussing at me about my weight last month had her math all wrong, b/c with this appts. 6 pounds I have gained 23 total, so not as bad as she made it out to be last time. I had a feeling it was all the chick fil lay breakfast I was eating and by cutting that out I pretty much fixed the problem.

They did give me the numbers for the heart rate for all you inquiring minds, and 2 months ago it was 155, last month it was 140 and this month it was 130, so the first month was girlish and the last two were boyish. She did tell me that in several studies that looked at heart rate, mothers dreams and mothers intuition, that the mothers intuition was the only thing that was any kind of reliable when predicting gender. And mine isn't going to be any help b/c one day I think boy and the other girl! so who knows but we only have about 2 1/2 months and then we will all know!!!

On another note I did get 2 pieces of the furniture and they are so beautiful, I can't wait to see the room put together. We are holding off on ordering the crib till we get the room painted so I have somewhere to put it all. My wonderful father in law is priming the room today (pending that he is feeling better), and hopefully we can get it painted with in the next 3 weekends!

I now start going to the Dr. every 2 weeks since I'm now in the 3rd trimester (its a good thing that 2nd one took forever . . .) and I think about week 35 or 36 I start going weekly! crazy to think its that close!!!

If you haven't heard by now we decided on our names (well JV kinda decided a long time ago, we were just waiting on me) for a boy it will be: Aaron Christian and for a girl: Alyssa Jane As of now that is set, there is still time for me to change my mind, but I'm pretty sure I'm perfect with those!!!

Last time I went to the Dr. I also went to the dermatologist to have a mole removed off my left hip b/c it had changed a little bit in the past few months. I was told it could be b/c of the pregnancy but I wanted to be sure. So they removed it and biopsied it and it came back fine, but they do want to remove the rest just to insure that there isn't a problem in the future. I am going to do that after the baby is born b/c they give you some medication to help the blood clot and being pregnant they couldn't give it to me and I bled for 3 days and almost ruined my favorite pair of maternity pants. The Dr. said it would not be a problem to wait so I'll take care of that later!!

I am feeling tons of movement now, and all through out the day, but this little bugger is tempermental b/c when ever JV puts his had there where its moving it stops, so he hasn't felt it much, he can watch my stomach move and put his hand there and it stops, its crazy!

Well that's about it for now, I feel pretty good, I have days where I feel huge and others I don't feel pregnant at all. I'm still sleeping OK, having issues breathing but what else is new. I think I'm making JV sleep a little worse now too, it seems that he doesn't sleep through all my movements as much as he use too! but its good practice b/c neither one of us is going to be getting good nights sleep for a while!!!

Quick Update

Real quick update: Last sat. morning (3/27/2009) JV got to feel the baby move. He kinda laughed and said it felt weird, but he was so excited. The baby has started moving a lot more in the past two weeks. Its kinda like my wake up call, when my alarm starts going off, so does it!! I'm starting to feel it in two places at once now so its kinda crazy to think how big the baby is getting. Only 14 more weeks!!! CRAZY! We still haven't got anything done in the nursery (well except the few clothing items I have bought, I'm telling JV that this is his fault, if we were finding out what we were having I would only have to buy one color, but he insist that I would of bought a whole wardrobe by now if we knew so this is for the better, don't tell him but I'm thinking he is probably right!!!) we need to prime it but with the crazy weather, we have to be able to open the windows and that hasn't really been an option in the past few weekends!! So hopefully in the next few weeks we can get started on the painting!!! NO big rush right now!! The shower at Aunt Lane's house is set for May 16th at 12:00! thought I would give you a heads up!!!

I kinda had a scare Wednesday night, I started cramping really bad all the sudden for a few min. and it was happening every 10-12 min. (It kinda felt like when I had the miscarriage) Being that I had no idea what a contraction was suppose to feel like I was pretty worried. I called the dr. they told me to stay in bed (it was like 11:00 at night so that wasn't a problem) and to drink plenty of fluids, we thought it might just be an upset stomach so they were not to eager to make me go to the hospital or anything. So she said pay attention and to call back if it wasn't any better by 1:30am. Well about 12:00 everything was fine and I went to sleep, so it wasn't a big deal, but a little worrisome for me!!! I'm guessing I just ate something that didn't agree with me. Thursday I was fine! Its weird how every little thing makes me wonder if something is wrong!!!

My next appt. is the 15th so I'll update again then!!! Hope you are all doing well, thanks for all the prayers, support and the help with the baby items!!! Love you guys!!!
